Gangway is the facility for people to board & disembark when the large size oil tanker parking at the dock for operation. The traditional way of boarding and disembarking is through the accommodation ladder of the ship. In current large-size oil terminal, especially the jetty without any shield, the jetty face is not always linked together, and the elevation is very high. During the loading/unloading process, the ship may bump and drift quickly and sharply. Besides, since the fender of the jetty is large, and the distance between the shipboard and the jetty edge is very long. In such circumstances, the boarding and disembarking can not be done through the traditional accommodation ladder. To keep passenger safe and improve the efficiency, it has been the inevitable tendency to replace traditional accommodation ladder with gangway. Just like marine loading arm, gangway has been the essential facility in modern large-size oil terminal.

The gangway generally adopt mechanical drive and hydraulic drive system as the drive mechanism.  According to the characteristics of the operations, many protection devices and anti-explosion electrical devices are installed to ensure the safety of the transmission mechanism. 

Main Features:
The operation of Changlong’s gangway is easy, flexible, stable and safe. The repair and maintenance is also very convenient.
The main structure of folding ladder is of LF5 high strength aluminium alloy, which is light and safe. As per different ship sizes, the main ladder can be designed as fixed length type or telescopic type, which can deal with various connection requirement. Electrical control system is self developed. Key components are from best-known manufacturers at home or abroad, which ensure the quality and performance. The remote control makes easier operation.

The ladder is the passageway from the lifting platform to the ship. Max. uniform load is 600kgs. Changlong offers two types of ladder structures: foldable type of high quality steel alloy, and telescopic type of LF-5 anti-corrosion aluminium alloy.

CL-1 Gangway is comprised of main ladder, triangle ladder and frame. It is a practical ladder with light-weight, simple structure and easy operation. The hydraulic cylinder drives the main ladder for luffing and slewing. When connected with ship, the main ladder’s cylinder and the slewing cylinder is in free floating status without counterweight. The CL-1 gangway is suitable for dock with capacity ≤30,000 DWT.


CL-2 Gangway is comprised of main ladder, front ladder, triangle ladder, slewing platform and column. The hydraulic cylinder drives the main ladder and front ladder for luffing and slewing. When connected with ship, the main ladder’s cylinder and the slewing cylinder is in free floating status without counterweight. The CL2 gangway is suitable for dock with capacity ≤ 50,000DWT.

CL-3 gangway is comprised of main ladder, front ladder, triangle ladder, slewing platform, pulling system and column. The front ladder is driven by the hydraulic cylinder for lufffing, and the main ladder is drawn by wire rope for luffing. The slewing cylinder drives the whole ladder for slewing movement. When connected with ship, the slewing cylinder is in free floating status without counterweight. The CL-3 gangway is suitable for dock with capacity ≤ 80,000 DWT.
 CL-4 gangway is comprised of main ladder, front ladder, triangle ladder, slewing platform, lifting mechanism and tower structure. The CL-4 gangway has multiple floors. The triangle ladder, front ladder and main ladder makes a large claw type with wider operation scope. The hydraulic cylinder drives the ladder for luffing and telescoping. The slewing cylinder drives the whole ladder for horizontal slewing within ±90º. CL-4 gangway is suitable for dock with capacity over 50,000 DWT.
